So here is the day that is both hated and cherished by people all over the worse. All the bloggers have done posts regarding Valentines Day: you love, you hate, you wear girly dresses, decorations, PINK everywhere. You know the drill. It's a love hate relationship is it not?
Loved by all you ducklings who have a significant other to buy you gifts, take you to dinner, and make you feel like the most important person for one day out of the entire year (and hopefully more than that.)
Hated by all the bitter singles out there who wish they had a fraction of the things listed above.
I find myself split in half between the two worlds, and on this day I'm feeling a little of both. So what to do?
Well I always place great importance on the little things that happen to me on a daily basis that remind me to appreciate life for what it is worth. To love and cherish the little things. To appreciate the magic when it presents itself.
SO...when my dear friend Gerald was talking to me day about his feelings on the v-day celebrations I was again taken aback by just how much people can suprise you:
"I don't need one day out of the year to tell you guys
that I love you. I love you everyday, no matter what."
I know, I know, very cheesy of me. But of course, as usual, it got me to thinking.
Valentine's day isn't just the day of hearts, a dozen roses, and chocolates in the heart shaped box. It's a reminder.
TELL THE PEOPLE WHO MATTER THAT YOU LOVE THEM.
AND APPRECIATE THAT YOU ARE LOVED.
How lucky am I to have all these special people in my life who care about me? A loving God, caring parents, grandparents, roommates, friends, teammates and coaches...all who reached out to me today just to let me know they cared. How lucky am I that I have so much love surrounding me each and everyday. The luckiest girl in the world...
So all you Taylor Swift fans who have that perfect love story already, hold onto it and never ever let it go.
For the rest of us, I'm having the best love story ever...and I'm living it each and everyday of my life.
That's what I'm celebrating today!
So...to all my followers,
Happy Valentines Day!
