Every once in a while, I feel a wave of nostalgia for my childhood and the memories come back to me like they happened just yesterday. Today was one of those days. I think it's this fall weather that we have been experiencing the past couple days (don't worry it will be short lived, it's going to be 86 on Thursday) that brings back those old memories.
Things I miss the most:
-running through the field behind my house, picking wild flowers and putting them in a vase for Mom
-tents in the backyard with old blankets and sticks
-Dad's bonfires (we thought we were Indians and used to dance around it for hours)
- riding bikes barefoot down our street
-backyard cookouts
-making jack-o-lanterns in the dining room, surprisingly Mom never made a comment about the gigantic mess that we always made.
- big gallons of homemade apple cider...warm or not it was the best thing I have ever tasted!
-spending the holiday with family
Happy Fall, enjoy it because when winter rolls around we will be wanting this back!!
