FINALLY!!

Seeing as school and track have taken over my life the past two weeks, I have been slacking on my blog the past couple of weeks. This past Monday was my 21st birthday, which as usual I had to spend away from my family because it was the first day of finals week. But thats okay...I got a little taste of home from my mom, who sent me 21 PACKAGES and ENVELOPES via mail over the few days before my birthday.

In them she included some of my favorite things: 21 sunflowers, 21 oreos, 21 fortune cookies, 21 pictures of puppies and kitties, etc. Such a good surprise from her, almost like I had a little piece of a birthday celebration here in Oxford! {Thank you Mom!!}

Even though I was pretty bummed that my birthday happened to fall on a Monday, I still got the chance to celebrate that weekend with a few friends and Mikey, who flew from D.C to watch our track meet and visit everyone. It was great to see him...it had been too long! Lucky girl that I am...I had two birthday dinners! On Thursday Christi's parents were in town so we went out to Casa Mexicana for a little Mexican food. Of course, as tradition, I got to wear the huge sombraro which was suprisingly heavy!

Christi and Ellen got me the best present in the WORLD...the little grill that I have been wanting for ages, weird I know but it will be so nice to finally grill out.

We went to Boure for the birthday dinner on Monday night and I ordered my first drink {apple martini} and had delicious salmon. Yummm :)
