Always on cue at the beginning of July, the county fairs start rolling into town with the beloved carnies and their rigged games, elephant ears, and lemon shakeups. I don't ever remember having any memories from my childhood attending these fairs, but I am glad the past couple years we have made the effort to make it out to one of them close to home.
The hour drive was worth it, 100%. I love the atmosphere, the smells, but most of all the people. And I thought the international terminal of O'Hare was great for people watching...I was wrong. The groups of people that chose to come to these fairs are nothing short of unique to say the least. Couples, large families, and teenagers weaved through the bright lights and screaming patrons, and I was taking it all in.
First ride of the day..the Ferris Wheel...and Rob was not too thrilled to be taking pictures. Probably because of the fact that it was 90 degrees. Yuck!
Mom loves fairs...but carrying our stuff while we ride? Mmm not so much!
Gotta love those fair rides...we had too much fun even though I could barely stand when I got off!!
Making new friends is ALWAYS a good thing, especially when its the cutest little goat in the world.
It is after all the summertime, where we are supposed to take a deep breath and enjoy the little things. Here's to the simple things that make life so great! Happy Tuesday!
