I was watching Regis and Kelly this morning ( which has become a daily ritual since I've been home)...and two things were brought to my attention that I couldn't possibly ignore and immediately wanted to share.
Want to make your home smell like you stepped out of a fast food burger joint? Well White Castle just came out with a burger-scented candle a few days ago that is supposedly "selling out quickly" across the nation. One of the positives? All proceeds will be going to an organization supporting autism in the United States. Which is an excellent cause of course, but seriously? I guess in this fast food nation, it is to be expected.

The Silly Bandz craze could potentially be the next big thing since the trading of Pokemon cards. Kids now have placed certain value on certain shapes, with some being more valuable and less common then others. But who knew that a little colorful band could cause such big problems. Teachers have discussed banning them from school because children have become so obsessed with trading that it is taking away from the attention they should be spending in class.
“Students fiddle with them during class and arrange swaps – trading, say, a bracelet with a mermaid for one with a dragon – when they should be concentrating on schoolwork, teachers say. Sometimes a trade goes bad – kids get buyer’s remorse too – and hard feelings, maybe even scuffles, ensue.” -Time Magazine
One school in Gardendale, Alabama has taken the step of banning students from bringing the Bandz to school entirely.
