With finals week quickly approaching (faster than many of us would like), school has offically taken over every aspect of my life. I don't like it..it only makes me crave summer more. Teachers think that hey, were going to send students into the "panic mode" before they leave for a nice long vacation. Too bad I was already there like a month ago. In the attempt to relieve the building stress, I am trying to work ahead in all of my classes with the thought that this will make it easier for my in the last weeks. That's the hope at least.
I joked with my mom last night on the phone that I was going to forget my upcoming birthday (the big 2-1) and now that seems to be more and more of a reality and not so much a joke. Seeing as I was oh so fortunate to have it fall on the Monday of finals week, I will not be celebrating the way that most normal 21 year olds like to celebrate their birthdays. It's just not in the cards for me, though I wish so badly that it was.
A streak of sunshine through the gloom: this weekend is the Double Decker Festival. I love Double Decker. Let me say that again....LOVE. IT. It's my favorite time of the year in Oxford because everyone lets loose for one more weekend before cracking down and setting up tents in the library for finals week Snow cones, art vendors, and jewelry are a plenty and seeing as I had such a good time last year, the bar is set higher for this year. I hope that the weekend will live up to it's expectations. Regardless, I will never turn down the oppurtunity for sunshine, food, and a straight up relaxing atmosphere with good music. Heaven. Ahhhh...
